Preparing Your Small Business Proposal Part II Of II

by SBA on April 2, 2008

In continuation from the post on Monday.

There are five key elements to remember when preparing a great business proposal that will stand out above the others. A well written business proposal can win the hearts and minds of your target audience.

Solutions: You should first write a lead in paragraph that will describe your small business needs and/or problems. It would be wise to follow up with a solid presentation of how your business is able to provide solutions. It is important to provide solutions that you are able to deliver.

Credibility: State what clients you have worked with in the same field. List what awards your small business has been given for the work that you have done. Third party endorsements will help build your credibility and should also be included.

Samples: A good business proposal should include evidence of your ability to deliver what you promise. Include a small sample showing that you are able to get the job done.

Benefits: State what the benefits would be for working with your small business. If you can meet tight deadlines or provide complete confidentiality, state it in your benefits section on your proposal.

Target Your Audience: Communication is the key when writing a great small business proposal. Make sure the language that you are using pertains to your targeted audience.

At the end of the day, you may not win all of the bids you are seeking, but you will win business connections that match your own small business needs.
